{Lifestyle} Weekly Windup

To start this weeks wind up are my photos from the #FMSPHOTOADAY challenge.

Previous week from the challenge are below, so have a look at the things I have snapped over the weeks. Want to join in? Click on one of my past weeks to find out what to do.
Week 6Week 7, week 8week 9week10, week 11week 12week 17week 18, week 19week20, week 21

I had some much needed "Me" time on Wednesday and got my hair done. I had not had it done since November, so it was in dyer (nice pun ey) need of one.
I have also finally started to decorate Keaton's bedroom. I have been collecting, and making things for a while, and have just not had the time to put it all together, While its no where near finished, I managed to put a few pictures up at least, and also the rail for his "craft station". I have bought some metal planters off ebay which will hang off the rail and house his crayons, felt pens, and pencil crayons.

Saturday eve was terrible. Keaton is lactose intollerant, and can only have  really small amounts of dairy. We thought he may be out growing it, so we give him cheese, and small amounts of cows milk, which he is normally fine with. however on saturday night he was eating cream cheese and dip (I think he was eating more when we werent watching), he went to bed, and around 11pm woke up coughing. Something told me to pick him up and sit with him, thank goodness I did, because he projctile vomited all over me and his floor. So this picture was taken of him at around 11.30pm when he decided it would be a good time for toast. Thankfully he was back in bed by midnight, and there were no more "sessions"
As I am doing the GCC Global Challenge, I needed to increase my steps, so we all went for a walk on sunday (about 4.5km). I was a great sunny day, and was good to be out in the sun and fresh air.

Until next weeks ramblings.

{Blog} Weekly Windup

To start this weeks wind up are my photos from the #FMSPHOTOADAY challenge. I missed the third day (borrowed), I was at home with a sick child, so was run off my feet trying to look after him and work as well, was absolutely shattered.
Previous week from the challenge are below, so have a look at the things I have snapped over the weeks. Want to join in? Click on one of my past weeks to find out what to do.
Week 6Week 7, week 8week 9week10, week 11week 12week 17week 18, week 19week20
So my week was pretty normal (nothing exciting is happening in my world at the moment, besides getting a new kitchen).

At work we are taking part in the GCC global challenge. We are in teams of 7, and we have to walk 10.000 steps per day, and record them online, this then plots you on a map, and tracks you as you walk around the world. Its great to build team spirit, and people are getting really competitive. Its getting me motivated to exercise more as well. I now go one walks at lunch, and take Ernie on a walk in the evenings around the neighbourhood. Its really interesting to see how many steps you actually take in a day. Without the walks, I don't get to 10,000, so it really is an eye opener.
This was how I spent most of my Wednesday. Keaton would not sleep in his bed, He has a terrible cough, and blocked nose, the doctor said it was not in his chest, so would not give him any medicine. I went to the pharmacy and got a whole bunch of herbal medicines for him, which seem to be working. Between him and Ernie, I was kind of stuck on the couch most of the day, so did not have a very productive work day.

I bought this cute necklace from an online fire fighter store, thought it was really cute, and it was not expensive at all. I cant wear sterling silver, as I am allergic to it, so have always just worn yellow gold. This is a nice change though, and its long, so it can tuck into my bra.

We only got a dining table set when we moved into our new house, it was second hand from the owners of the house at the time, and it will be a great DIY when I finally get around to doing it. Anyway Ernie loves to help himself to one of the chairs and fall asleep, he also likes to sit on one of the chairs while we are all eating dinner, I am so sure he is part human, cat, and very little dog.
Keaton and I went to a cafe for breakfast with my mum and her friends, and it has to be one of my new fav's. Not only do they present the food in an awesome way, they also give kids a regular size fluffy, and not an espresso size. Keaton loves his fluffy's so this is a definite plus.

These are what I like to call the 3 stages of Keaton in the morning. He starts off grumpy, and demands my phone so he can watch the "bee baa's" while he waits for his milk. Next is his "I see my milk" face, and third is his"ooh look mum has her camera out" face.

I purchased one of the reachME Mother's day packs a few weeks ago, and it arrived on Friday. I am not sure if I would buy it again, I like the makeup brushes etc, and the tea and coffee, but that's about it, I am not sure what I was expecting really, I guess its kind of like a black box in a way.

My blogging friend Charlene kindly sent me these two beauties from her Kmart, as our one has not got them in stock yet. Keep a look out on here for a Kmart hack in the coming weeks.

Lastly we spent the weekend shopping for our appliances for our new Kitchen. Its going to be started in the next two weeks, so we went out and bought a cook top, oven, range hood and dishwasher. The best thing about getting them all now was that they were all on sale - gotta love Queens Birthday Weekend.

What did you get up to?

{Blog} Weekly Wind Up

My week was pretty boring really. Our fence is finished at home, so Keaton and Ernie can roam freely and safely now. However typical Auckland weather has prevented them from stepping out so far.

I have run out of data on my phone, so took a week off the #FMSPHOTOADAY challenge, I still took some pictures for it, but I was kind of over it because I could not snap and upload all at once. However I am back for this week, so if you want to see what I have gotten up to in the previous weeks, see below:
Check back next week to see what I captured this week.

My Monday started off with this cup of coffee, I thought the caption on it was most fitting for my Monday.
We are having our kitchen redone, I cant wait for it to be done. I am currently trying to decide what sink I like, hubby likes one, and I like another, so trying to see which one will work best with our space. I will post a before and after on here once its complete (I don't want to scare everybody off with the one that is in there now). The rest of the week involved looking online for kitchen "stuff" and colour combinations to go with. Oh yes, and work...naturally.

I had to catch the bus to work on Thursday. It was so cold, and wet, luckily I can walk from our house to the bus stop, and it was a short walk. While waiting for the bus, I did what any good blogger does, snapped a picture of my surroundings!

Saturday was the Sky Tower Firefighters Climb. 750 Firefighters basically ran up the Sky Tower in Auckland, to raise money for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer. 1,103 steps, 51 floors, and carrying 25kg's of kit. Brad was one of the 750 to do it. Keaton and I went along to show our support. Keaton LOVED it, he had a grin on his face the entire time, he is absolutely besotted with Firemen and Fire Trucks.

Keaton loves playing with my phone. I have a folder of apps for him with educational games etc. He knows where the folder is, and can navigate around my phone really well (for a 2 year old). However, he has not managed to work out how to unlock it yet (I have tried to get him to do the whole finger print thing, but its easier said than done), so if he wants to play a game and my phone is locked, he just pushes buttons... so he was doing that, and this happened. Luckily after a while, it let me put my code in and was fine, but I still got a shock when I saw it.

Sunday morning breakfast courtesy of Keaton, He loves playing in his little kitchen,
and I often get a cup of tea, so this was a nice change
.
Its my mums birthday today, so we all went over to my parents house yesterday for tea. I made a chocolate cake, and it looked fine in the oven, but when I took it out, it had gone like a brownie, it was definitely cooked, but looked all gooey, and was crumbly. So I did what any good baker does, cover it in sprinkles and icing, and hope that nobody notices. Apparently it was good, and everyone survived, so couldn't have been that bad.

The finished product

Finally to end off the weekend, I was asked for ID when I was at the grocery store yesterday. Brad had some beer in the trolley, and as I was paying for them, the lady asked me for my ID, I suppose I should take it as a compliment, but being 29 years old, I hardly think I look like a teenager.
Apparently I have a baby face!
Until next week!

{Blog} Weekly Wind Up and #FMSPHOTOADAY

Going forward I will be combining my weekly wind up and my pictures from my FMSPHOTOADAY challenge.

So to start off with...
We moved into our new house on Tuesday. Its fab – absolutely love it, its so flat, and there are no stairs which is even better. The whole process went smoother than I thought. We were lucky enough he have gotten to know the previous owners of our house before we moved in, and as they were moving to another town, they gave us the remote for the garage way before we were due to move in. We started taking bits and pieces there over the weeks leading up to settlement. So on settlement day, we were able to start moving in in the morning. This was a total life saver as Tuesdays weather was disgusting, it rained nonstop for most of the day! Fast forward to yesterday – we are settled, unpacked, and in the process of doing some minor renovating/upgrading.

I also got this cute mother’s day gift from Keaton. He only goes to day-care 3 times a week, so was not there the Friday before and the Monday after mother’s day. I love it, can’t wait to get it framed up and put in the bedroom.

Keaton is finally 100% off the dummy, it was the easiest thing ever. I had been stressing about it for ages. We started off by telling him that he was a big boy, and that dummies are for babies, luckily we have a niece who is a couple of months old, so we told him that she was a baby and needed his dummy. He was happy with that and said that big boys don’t need dummies. Next he helped me cut the top off his dummy and throw the top away. I let him keep the bottom part to hold onto. When it was bed time, he got into bed, asked for the dummy – to which I said “ you are big boy and big boys don’t have dummies”, he replied “ babies have dummies”. I gave him the cut off one, and he was fine with it. I had do repeat that every night for about 3 nights, but now he doesn't even ask for it. No night time wake ups, no cries for it, nothing. He is just awesome, and he amazes me more and more everyday!

My Facebook page hit 80 likes, I know for a lot of people who are bloggers and who have Facebook pages, that is nothing, but for me, it’s a huge thing. I didn’t want to create a Facebook page, because I was scared I would be judged etc, but I am no over that, I mean people obviously look at my content, so if you have liked my page – Thanks.

I got some new cushions for the lounge, I thought the lounge needed a pop of colour, as the old lounge’s colour scheme was blue and beige. We are stuck (for now) with the lounge suite (which is blue), so I bought some turquoise cushions and decor to add that little pop. It’s still missing something, so am going to introduce a bit of yellow as well. Not a bright yellow, more of a lemon yellow.
New Cushions

A few pieces I picked up to go with the cushion
After writing all that down, it does not seem to read as hectic as it was, but it really was!
In amongst all the manic, I managed to capture my 7 pictures for the #FMSPHOTOADAY challenge:
