Weekly Wind Up, Maybe
I should rename it monthly something.
As with most of the
series I try and start, I seem to fail at maintaining them. There is always
something more “important” that seems to come along and take up my blogging
time. Currently it’s a 2.5 year old and a 36 week bump that have me tied up
all the time.
I just can’t seem to
find the time to blog, let alone keep up with my weekly posts, and it’s the beginning of March. What I am going to be like for the other 9+ months?
Here is a very quick
update on what has been happening in my life and with my pregnancy over the
last few weeks – apologies for the novel.
Bump
I am down to weekly
midwife appointments now – which is scary because it means the end is near…
like really near, like any day now. I am not ready – I am still working, so
this little guy better stay inside for 4 more weeks. I have to have more bloods
taken this week. I am not looking forward to that. My iron levels are
apparently almost non-existent, so my mum is freaking out (she is a neonatal
nurse) – so good to have around when it comes to all things baby, but man – she
is giving me such a hard time about my iron. Okay so normal levels are anywhere
from 12 – 120, when I fell pregnant mine were 99, at 30 weeks they were less
than 6… ooops – I can see where she is coming from, but I am taking iron
tablets, the problem is, I can’t eat normal size meals anymore, because when I
do, I get sick ,and then I get heartburn, and then the iron tablet does not
stay down, so it’s been really hard. I have finally figured out that I need to
eat really small meals throughout the day, and then slightly larger at dinner time,
and then I can manage the iron tablet. Fingers crossed that the blood tests are
good on Wednesday and that my levels have increased.
Hospital bags are
all packed, and I even managed to pack a toddler bag in case we need to leave
in a hurry, so I am slightly organised there. The baby room is also nearing
completion, although I don’t enjoy going in there at the moment because I just
get overwhelmed with what I still need to do.
As you can see from the image below - it looks like I am carrying a watermelon. Well from this angle anyway - when I am standing it literally looks like I have shoved a basketball in there, because its this perfectly round ball shape.
Everything Else
I am in the process
of planning a third birthday party, even though the birthday is only near the
end of April – but there is no way I will be able to plan it any other time. So
I have had everything I need printed, and just need to assemble, and buy the
rest of the stuff, and then it’s all systems go. I also turn 30 (on the same
day as my toddler turns 3) – but I have decided to push my party out a few
months, so at least it will give me a bit of time to plan, and a bit of a
break.
We bought a bread
maker – now I just need to figure out how to use it. I am contemplating getting
pre-mix bread mixes, just because I can’t be bothered measuring out little bits
of this and that, and putting them in a certain way, so think it will be easier
to just get the pre-mix – I shall keep you updated on the progress of my bread
making.
I guest posted on 2
of my bloggy friends blogs (Teacher by Trade Mother by Nature, and Mummy do it) over the last 2 weeks, you can read all about what I
did here and here. I also blogged about the stupid things I have been asked while
pregnant, so definitely check those out.
Although I am really
bad at blogging, and I suspect it’s only going to get worse as the closer it
gets to the babies arrival – I am still quite active on social media – so don’t
forget to follow me on there and keep up to date with my going on’s.
Until the next
update – xxx
