Here is a super quick and simple (of course) recipe to help increase your milk supply if you are breastfeeding. They are super yummy biscuits in general, so if you are not breast feeding, skip the brewers yeast and/or Linseed, and make them to fill up your cookie jar.
Recipe:
- 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed (I used dark cane sugar)
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 4 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons ground linseed (or flaxseed, its the same thing)
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups quick oats
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 3 tablespoons brewer's yeast
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Preheat oven to 180'C
Mix the linseed with the water and let it sit for about 5 minutes
Beat the sugars and butter well, add in the vanilla essence
Add in the eggs and linseed, and mix well
Sift the flour, brewer's yeast, salt and baking powder
Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix well
Add the chocolate chips and quick oats.
Place spoon fulls onto a baking sheet, and bake for 15 minutes
They spread slightly, I removed mine after 15 minutes and they were still a bit chewy, so leave them a bit longer if you want something slightly harder.
Do they work? YES!!! Well they have for me, not only are they SUPER YUMMY, but my milk has defiantly increased. I am almost out of the first batch, so will be making another batch next week.
I think I got around 40 biscuits (about 4-5cm diameter ones) in total.

What a fantastic idea!
